Remote Nivi Primary School Received Donations From Waniati Maternal Waiting Home and Project YUMI

Nivi Primary is a remote school located in Unggai LLG, Unggai/Bena District, where community, including marginal coffee growers, often lacks basic services such education and health.It has taken four-hour drive through mountainous terrain and tough road conditions to reach Nivi Primary School.

The donation of students/teachers resources out to a remote spot like Nivi Primary School will make a huge difference for those students and staff.

In partnership with organizations like Project Yumi, Waniati distributes essential teaching and learning materials, including books, solar buddy, desks, tables, chairs to remote schools in the Eastern Highlands Province.

The principal of Nivi Primary School proudly acknowledges the generous support from Project YUMI working collaboratively with Waniati Maternal Waiting Home, through the donation of much-needed teaching and learning materials to Nivi Primary School.

Unggai LLG President, Hon. Michael Leinama, commended Waniati Maternal Waiting Home for delivering basic students and teachers resources for selected schools in Eastern Highlands Province. He expressed his commitment to working closely with Waniati Maternal Waiting Home and other established CBOs to improve access to essential services across the Unggai LLG.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Victor Timothy, the Waniati Maternal Waiting Home has expanded its mission beyond maternal health to actively support quality education in rural schools Eastern Highlands Province. The remote schools often lack the funds for anything beyond basic infrastructure, Waniati works to provide the critical learning resources necessary for a child's development.

Waniati emphasizes a holistic approach by providing reading books to boost children's comprehension and critical thinking from a young age.
