The maternal mortality rate in remote communities in across Papua New Guinea, is increasing at an alarming rate, mainly due to the poor health systems that are currently available. Our aim is to provide readily available sexual and reproductive health services so that women and girls can access family planning and survivors of sexual violence will not go without care.
Waniati Maternal Waiting Home is based in Goroka, supporting women from remote areas who need to access Goroka Provincial Hospital services to give birth safely.

Pregnant women receive life-saving antenatal care, access to safe delivery services, postnatal care and newborn care.
Men in the rural communities are routinely being educated about importance of women and young girls having access to clean pads and cleanliness.
Women have access to safe and voluntary family planning, which is central to women’s empowerment.
Survivors of sexual violence are provided with essential health services.

Your donation will support Waniati Maternal Waiting Home in its commitment to save and protect women and girls in remote communities in Eastern Highlands Province and Papua New Guinea as a whole. For every Kina you donate, 90 cents go directly to delivery of the programme and services and 10 cents go to the organisation’s administrative costs. We work hard to keep our administrative costs as low as possible.
